Our very own blueseventy legend!

Our very own ex-Olympian swimmer and VP of swimming, Roque Santos scored some unbelievable results over the weekend. At the Pleasanton, Ca. PMS Masters Championships Roque collected:
2 individual national records (the distance is in yards, so no world
records could be broken),
1 relay national record (with his wife... and the entire team was of course in blueseventy)
5 Pacific Masters records,
7 best Masters times in over 10 years!
Oh, and 2 lifetime best times!

Keep on Roque'n and rollin' :-)

CONGRATULATIONS! from us all at blueseventy!

11 Masters World Records for the nero

In Tempe, Arizona, at the second annual Ron Johnson Invitational short course meters meet, seven swimmers
swam faster than 14 Masters world record times at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. Two relays also swam under existing world marks. 11 of these world records were broken by swimmer's wearing the nero comp swimskin.

blueseventy's very own Roque Santos, a 1992 Olympian in the 200 breast representing Walnut Creek Masters, walked away from the meet with four new swims under world record time in the 40-44 age group: 100 breast (1:03.54), 100 IM (58.94), 200 IM (2:07.94) and 400 IM (4:32.05). His times in the 100 breast, 100 IM and 200 IM dipped under the records by less than three tenths each.

On the other side of the coin, Santos, 40, was just two-hundredths of a second slower than Wolfgang Jarmer's world record of 29.49 in the 50 breast with a 29.51. He also missed Alberto Montini's 200 breast record of 2:18.16 when he swam a 2:18.59.

The Staff Stache Selection

So now we're starting to see the results of some beautiful (hmmm?) grooming. As we head into the last half of Movember us girls wonder what styles the boys will be pulling out towards the end...
Remember if you want to donate then please go to http://us.movember.com/donate/donate-search.php?type=team and donate to our team called Rubbery Tablets.
To make things a little more interesting, we've decided that whoever donates the most amount of money to our team will WIN A FREE HELIX TST! (NB: please add your email address when you donate so we can contact you).

Shawn in Seattle, above, kicks back with The Avia-tache.

Above Roque in San Francisco mixes it up with his fangs (FYI they aren't real!)

Yay Guy gets some growth in New Zealand!

Steve seems to be ruling the roost at the moment, also in NZ, above.

Chris McDonald in Colorado supports the cause - but will he keep his mo for this weekend's race in Arizona?

An incredible end to the swimming events in Beijing

We had lots of athletes swimming in blueseventy swim skins in the Olympic Water Cube pool and also in the open water. But the Olympic gold medal of Maarten van der Weijden in the 10k open water swim was certainly the icing on the cake.

Roque Santos star mugging

Roque Santos was very busy in and around the Water Cube in Beijing and it appears that several celebrities were keen on being photographed with the hardest working cowboy at the Olympics. That was also true for former British prime minister Tony Blair who did not want to miss out on having a snapshot taken with Roque.

Olympic Trials in Omaha

So we are off to the trials in Omaha. Roque Santos and his side kick Dean "Deano" Jackson will be on hand to show, demo and talk bout our Nero swimskins. The past few weeks have had the blueseventy team running arond the globe holding test sessions in Italy, Germany, U.K, USA and many more places. Omaha will give us chance to enjoy the racing and support the athletes who have the Olympic dream. We will have 1000 demo suits at the event, so please feel free to approach us and ask us about the suits.

We will be based two blocks away from the pool:

02 Dodge
Omaha, NE 68102

We will be joined by our friends from floswimming who will be working on some video footage of athletes, the event and the Nero suit. Look also out for Roque Santos performing an underwater trick or two. We will be poolside in the warm up pool and you should not miss us in our fine cowboy hats. But just in case, Dean's cell phone is 206-295-5300 and Roque's cell phone is 925-699-2414.

All nero suits can be used for 1 race at a discretional fee of $20 (The money will be donated to "Make a Splash" the charity for bringing the pool to the children)

See you there...and watch this space.

Dean should not be missed
