We had fantastic representation in the Olympic 10k open water swim as athletes from various countries utilized the blueseventy nero 10k swim skin. Congratulations.

An incredible end to the swimming events in Beijing
We had lots of athletes swimming in blueseventy swim skins in the Olympic Water Cube pool and also in the open water. But the Olympic gold medal of Maarten van der Weijden in the 10k open water swim was certainly the icing on the cake.

Gold in Beijing -WOW
Maarten van der Weijden (NED) just won the gold medal in his Dutch themed blueseventy nero swim skin. Incredible.
Martin we are so proud of you and what an amazing story you have. After you were diagnosed with leukemia you had a stem cell transplant and luckily recovered. You then went on to win the 25k open water World Championships earlier this year and now you are the open water 10k Olympic Champion.

Guy sends in an update from the Olympics
In the men's 1500m we had quite a few blueseventy suits out. I think in 3 out of the 5 heats we had suits. With one guy in the first heat going 22 seconds faster than his qualifying time wearing the suit.
In the medley relays we had the Brazilian women's team wear our suits and they just missed out on the finals by 1 second. Stink.
We only had one suit worn in the men's relay by the freestyler from the South African relay medley team.
I took pictures of every race. So hopefully internet permitting I will be able to send them through shortly. I took loads of pics.
PS: the guy who was seeded 2nd going into the 1500 was wearing out suit but had a shocker and failed to make the finals.

Another Olympic update
We had 3 swimmers in the men's 100 Breaststroke semi final Vladislau Polyakou from Kazakhstan, Igor Boryski from Ukraine and William Diering from South Africa!! Non made the final, but all were best times and probably country records.
In the women's 200 Fly semi Katheryn Meaklim from South Africa used our suit and in the men's 4X 200 free relay event two of the South African team members used the blueseventy! Darian Townsend and Sebastien Roussean had fast swims in our suits!
We even had some folks use the blueseventy suit under their official suits. :-)

More blueseventy news from the Olympic water cube
blueseventy is making an impact on the pool deck and in the pool of the stunning Olympic water cube in Beijing. :-)
We know most of the world was watching Jason Lezak help Micheal Phelps get his 2nd gold medal in dramatic fashion. But, what you need to know is that the 2004 Olympic Championship relay from South Africa also swam in the race. They actually went faster than they did in 2004, but they were 7th! It was the same four men and two of them were in the blueseventy!! Rye Needling and Daran Townson both swam their faster every relay splits in our suits.
In the men's 100 breaststroke final Russian national record holder Roman Sludnov took 6th place in the blueseventy suit! His suit did not have logo, but he was in our suit!! Our best placing so far. :-)
Brazil's Rodrigo Castro used the blueseventy in the men's 200 free semis.
Men's semi final 200 fly was great for blueseventy too. We had a lot of use, up to 3 in one heat! Again, please note that most good swimming countries have agreements with swim suit companies. Our suits are on swimmers that can use anything they wish and are not (yet) the biggest names! The swimmers that are the very best in the world are under contract or they just got great! Like Gil!!
So, the two heats of the semi finals of the men's 200 fly we had 3 swimmers in our suits. Gil Stoval (USA) and Pawel Korzeniowsk from Poland were in non logo'd suits. And Brazil's Kaio Almeida was in a logo'd suit. The results were mixed.. Gil was 9th and Pawel was 8th and Kaio was 6th!!

The first days at the 2008 Olympics
The first couple of days of the Olympics have been great! We did have a finalist in the Men's 400 IM. Thiago Pereira from Brazil used the blueseventy nero suit and got 8th! This race was seen all over the world because Micheal Phelps won the race with a world record! Thiago is very popular in Brazil and his swim is a National & South American record.
We actually had a swimmer get fined because he chose to use the blueseventy over his sponsors suit! This is also huge because top swimmers are realizing that we have the fastest suit! Our location in the warm down pool is similar to what we had in Omaha. All the athletes and coaches know we are there and know what we look like. The first 3 times Steve and I went into the pool, we were mobbed! :-)
Even the president of the United States was eager. :-)

Super busy at the Olympics
The response in Beijing has been incredible and it's delightful to see a suit born in triathlon now aiding the worlds fastest swimmers. Well, those who are allowed to try out other stuff and are not bound by team obligations. We have to say that blueseventy has been a hit at the Olympics and Roque Santos and Steve Nicholls had their hands full letting Olympians try out the blueseventy nero swimskin.
Keep up the good work guys.
