You can't argue that Alistair Brownlee and his younger brother Jonathan are the best in the business
The brothers went 1 and 2 in Madrid ... with some very impressive Swimming Biking and Running.
blueseventys very own Alistair Brownlee captured his third consecutive Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Madrid title and created history at the same time when younger brother Jonathan pulled off second place.
This is the first time the brothers have pulled off the first and second place in the ITU world series .... Im sure it won't be the last. The brothers have no weakness. Fantastic swimmers they are always at the front end of the race. They both have the ability to break away on the bike and when it comes to the run , Well i'll let a quote from Javier gomez do the talking.
"The Brownlee’s were just on a different level on the run, so I couldn’t do too much. I tried on the first lap, I tried to follow them but I know that was not my pace, I was waiting to see if they would slow down, but they didn’t, they went faster and they smashed me.” Javier Gomez
Alistair and Jonathan do all of there training together in England . So it was a special moment when Alistair stopped just short of the finish line and hugged his younger brother before crossing the line first. A nice reward from years of hard training.
below are the ITU results from there website. Check the link out to see the video.
